The Maine Coon Cat
The Maine Coon cat originated in Maine where the breed was developed and highly prized as a hardy barn cat and mouser. Maine Coon cats are large and easily recognized by their tufted ears, large, tufted paws and long, full tail, which is used to wrap around their bodies for additional warmth in the cold New England winters. They are often described as having an almost dog-like personality, and, unlike many cats, often enjoy water. River Valley Maine Coon, a CFA-registered cattery, endeavors to breed quality Maine Coon cats that are healthy according to DNA tests, blood tests, and veterinarian examination, are of excellent temperament, and are beautiful. We are located in the River Valley of Arkansas.
